Vintage Van Briggle pre 1920 Vase
The Van Briggle pottery company was in business from 1901 until 2013 and was based in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
It can be very hard to date some of the pots precisely due to the wide variety of marks that changed over the years.
The fact that this pot is marked only with the back to back double "A" logo and the words "Van Briggle" incised into the base indicates this piece is probably pre 1920 since after that date the pots included the words "Colorado Springs, Co." in some form.
The condition is excellent with only a few manufacturer's imperfections and some crazing.
There is a line in the glaze(see pix) that is not a crack or break as it is smooth to the touch,
and a black "smudge" that is also original to the piece.
It has obviously been used as the interior suggests.
